What are NVR and DVR?

What are NVR and DVR?

Both NVR and DVR manage signal access, storage, preview and playback of your video and audio files received from the camera.

NVR Network Video Recorder is a wired device for network cameras.

  • AUDIO IN: Audio input interface for connecting audio input devices such as microphone. Both  video and audio input could be linked with ethernet port if the camera carries two-way audio.
  • AUDIO OUT: Audio output interface for connecting audio output devices, such as active  speakers.
  • VGA: Video output port, which can be connected to the VGA port of a monitor to display the monitoring videos.
  • HDMI: HDMI high-definition audio and video output interface, which can be connected to the HDMI port of monitor to display the monitoring videos.
  • LAN: Ethernet port.
  • ALARM IN: Alarm input interface for external alarm input signal.

Installation environment requirements

  1. Ensure that the equipment is installed in a stable environment. A professional cabinet is recommended.
  2. Install the video recorder in a well-ventilated location. The distance between multiple devices should be greater than 2cm.
  3. Do not place liquid containers on the video recorder.
  4. Keep away from strong electric or magnetic equipment.
  5. The NVR work within temperature (-10℃~+55℃) and humidity (10%~90%) ranges. Please noted that the device cannot be kept in a high or low temperature environment for a long time. Also, a hard disk is needed for NVR/DVR. The specific temperature and humidity conditions should be referred to your specific hard disk.

 Cleaning and maintenance

  1. Do not use volatile solvents such as alcohol, benzene or thinner and strong or abrasive cleaning agents for cleaning since the protective coating could be damaged.
  2. The dust on the circuit board in the video recorder may cause a short circuit with dampnessUse a soft brush to clean the circuit board, connectors, chassis and fan regularly. Or else, use a neutral detergent diluted with water to wipe off the dirt and wipe it dry.

Recommendation: If there is a need for cleaning, please contact the local after-sales service to avoid abnormal problems caused by self-operation.
